get to know me

  • I’m the middle of 7 siblings, happily married, a mother of 2 adult children, and “Marmie” to 10 grandchildren who brighten every corner of my world.

  • If you’re into personality types, I am an extroverted Enneagram 4w3; a Myers-Briggs ENFP.  I am driven by deep, heart to heart connection; to know and to be known.

  • I love books. I’m drawn to stories, both fiction and nonfiction; I enjoy getting lost in a riveting novel and it's not unusual for me to have 2 or 3 personal-growth books going at a time.

  • Spirituality is a personal value that keeps me intrigued and driven to go to the deep places of the human soul and spirit; to learn, to understand, to question, and to dig into the meaning of our human-spiritual existence.

  • I’m relationally driven and particularly passionate about marriage. I have worked tenaciously to cultivate a loving, fulfilling relationship with my husband of 45 years. Who I am is in direct correlation to my life lived with him.  Together we have mentored and counseled numerous couples over the decades of our married life.

  • I have cross-cultural experience, both volunteering and living in developing countries much of my adult life.  These places have pieces of my heart, but my second “home” is Kenya, East Africa, where this land and its people will forever be a part of me.

  • I have a deep conviction around health and wellness. It brings balance and peace to my everyday life. I am an avid exerciser (though not an athlete, per se).  I am into healthy food choices and cooking, being careful to keep a balanced approach to my choices. I have found that a balanced diet and exercise regimen together is vital for maintaining good health.

  • I recently went through a 10 year-long health crisis with complex back issues. It included long periods of severe pain causing me to be housebound and bedridden. Being trapped in a body of relentless pain, I found myself feeling hopeless and isolated.  This drove me into a dark place of searching for answers to life’s question of pain and suffering. My faith became my hope and mainstay. I wouldn’t trade one minute of pain for the lessons and grounding truth I gained through this difficult experience.

  • After years as a mentor, life coach certification seemed to be a good fit for me.  I was thrilled with what I learned through my Life Coach training.  It excites me being involved in the transformation that the coaching process brings to a person’s life journey!
